Multiple Summonses For Same Car Stop

Many Drivers receive more than one ticket resulting from their first car stop. The amount of summonses that may be issued are totally within the Police Officer’s discretion.

Certain tickets are very closely related to each other. For example, an Officer may give tickets for Disobeying a Green Arrow (Pointing Straight) and Disobeying a Traffic Control Device (No Turns) to one motorist. The driver turns, gets two tickets, now what?

Many, but not all judges will consider this one action and will find guilty on only one. However, some judges might find guilty on both. In another case, the Officer may issue summonses for a Red Light and Cell Phone at the same time. These are clearly different offenses. You can be found guilty on one, both, or neither.
