Traffic Related Deaths Down In NYC

Road deaths in New York City are down by over 25%. From November 1 to March 7th, there were 66 fatalities from traffic incidents in New York City.  Last year, during the same time period, there were 89 fatalities. City officials have pointed to the “Dusk and Darkness Campaign” as a contributing factor to the decrease in traffic deaths.Other officials point to the Vision Zero campaign as a safeguard against traffic deaths. This winter, police wrote 243,943 violations for Vision Zero offenses, which is a 10% increase from the previous year.
