Congestion Fees for Taxi Drivers Starting January
Starting January, New York City will be implementing congestion fees toward NYC Drivers. Congestion fees will hit the TLC community the hardest economically. “Yellow cab passengers will pay $2.50 on top of existing 50 cent charge that goes directly to the MTA. Green outer borough taxis, will charge a $2.75 congestion fee, on top of the 50 cent MTA surcharge.” This new surcharge will take away from TLC driver’s daily wage even more then it is currently.
