Traffic Fatalities Decrease in NYC

Cycling deaths have increased in 2017 even though the total number of traffic deaths has decreased by 28% since the city launched it’s Vision Zero program.  This marks the fourth year in a row that traffic fatalities have declined in New York City.  According to Patch.com overall deaths are down while the number of cycling deaths remains fairly consistent even though far greater numbers of cyclists are on the roads in recent years.

The data for the Vision Zero program for the year 2017 was released last week.
