Seat Belts
Seat belt tickets are a common ticket for police officers to give to motorists in New York. Seat belt tickets for adults are zero point tickets but do have a fine attached to them. All drivers in New York are required by law to wear a seat belt. Be aware that the penalty for driving while a child is not wearing a seat belt is much more severe. A child seat belt ticket carries three points and a fine. Make sure you and your passengers buckle up, it is the law and will help keep you safe while using the road.
