Financial Crisis for NYC Taxi Drivers
Last week tragedy struck the taxi community again with another suicide due to financial issues. The NYC cabby community has been feeling a huge hit from the increase of ride sharing drivers. With no regulations on the number for hire cars it has been harder and harder for Taxi drivers to make a living. “According to the TLC in 2014, The taxis did around 475,000 fares each day, and now the number has plummeted to less than half that with only 175,000 to 250,000 fares per day.”
Do you think the city should start regulating how many for-hire cars are circulating in the city?
