Geography Questions No Longer an Important Part of the Taxi Cab Exam, says TLC

The Taxi and Limousine Commission has decided to eliminate a number of geography questions on the exam drivers must pass in order to operate a taxi cab in New York City. The TLC argues that GPS devices are sufficient for taxi cab drivers to find their way around the city, and that the exam can now cover more safety issues. We would like to remind all drivers, not just taxi cab drivers, that the use of handheld electronics such as GPS devices while operating a vehicle is a moving violation punishable by a fine and 5 points on your driving record. Do you think this is a good change, or should taxi drivers still be tested on geography?
