Passing Other Vehicles
In New York State drivers are prohibited from passing other vehicles on the right side. If a police officer observes you passing other vehicles on the right side they will be able to issue a Passed on Right ticket. Passed on Right tickets carry a fine and 2 points. In New York State all drivers are supposed to pass other vehicles on the left side to maintain a consistent and uniform flow of traffic.
