Proposed Pay Hike For Hail Drivers
Taxi Limousine Commission officials revealed a plan to set new pay rules for app-hailing drivers. The new rules would set a minimum wage of $17.22 per hour for drivers according to the article “hail yeah, to taxi pay rules” by Dan Rivoli published on Thursday October 4, 2018 in the New York Daily News. The announcement was given on Wednesday at the National Museum of the Native American marking the first time driver pay would be regulate where app-hailing businesses operate. The new minimum wage would help stabilize the taxi industry which has been heavily impacted by the introduction of app-hailing services.
